Yesterday Jojo, Tressel, Connor, and I went to 3 Dogs & A Chick for the summer cookout & pot luck.  It was a good turnout, and there were a number of new faces.

I brought a bean salad (the recipe name is "cowboy caviar") that seemed to go over well.  My dogs were very excited about the doggie treats they got - bbq bones and peanut butter pigs!  They would have been happy to have some burgers and hot dogs too!

Connor was just happy to be out & about!  He did seem awfully interested in the fruit punch.

It is with a heavy heart that I write.

As of the end of July, I will no longer be hosting the Sunday group doga class at All One Yoga.

I appreciate everyone's efforts who have helped me this far.  I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to speak with me, to visit this website, and to learn more about doga.

I hope that I have encouraged people to spend time with mindful awareness fostering the bond they have with not only their dogs, but with the world around them - and with themselves.

It is my hope that I will resume group classes soon.  However, I will continue to offer in-home private consultations.

Namaste

Yesterday, Thursday 7/2, I was out with members of the Crestview Kitty Group in front of the Shalimar courthouse.  We were there rallying for the conviction of Shawn Thayer, accused of murdering his friend's pit bull named Bugsy.  Thayer killed Bugsy with a meat cleaver, hacking the dog over 80 times.

About a dozen of us were out in the heat, including Jojo & Tressel.  One of the best moments came when a mother and her teen daughter came up to me.  The mother said her daughter was an animal advocate, but had never seen a rally like ours.  I told her a little about the group, and that we would be excited to have them join us.  The pair then spoke with Jason Williams, and he got their contact info.  Get 'em when they're young!

Regarding the case, the court determined Thayer was incompetent to stand trial at this time.  He will be sent to a mental facility for 6 to 9 months, or until he becomes competent, at which time he will still have to face the charges pending against him.
